Help me give my students the chance to bring math to life. Having a color printer will inspire their creativity in math class.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Stern's classroom raised $597
This project is fully funded
My Students
My students come into class everyday ready to learn. They enjoy the challenges they face but they yearn for something more. They are enthusiastic about school and are also becoming more enthusiastic about math.
My students love working in groups together to create projects to display in the classroom as well as in the hallways for other students to see.
30% percent of my students are classified as special needs children. The simplest task as using the school computers to design their projects gets them so excited.
This project will bring math to life. Having a color printer will inspire their creativity in math class. Several of my students are very creative, but are not strong in math. Showing how math is seen in nature (Fibonacci) and in art (Escher) will make a connection for them. Math class does not have to be bland and boring. It can be beautiful and perhaps this will help to open their hearts to math.
My Project
This project will be a great resource to implement more projects and interactive activities into a math classroom. Specifically the students in geometry will be able to demonstrate the properties of quadrilaterals using laptops and print their final projects to be put on display! In trigonometry the students will be able to graph multiple equations on one graph in colors to see the differences!
As stated before the color printer will allow for the students to show how creative and hands on math class can be.
Students will have the opportunity to be creative, and show their work in non-traditional ways.
