Help me give my students a poster size printer and ink. My students need a better way to learn new vocabulary and language input. . We also need some bags to organize our math materials.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students need color poster size printer. Our school is located in a low socioeconomic area of the city, but that doesn't determine the hopes and goals our students have for themselves. Eighty percent or more of our students receive free or reduced price lunch, with parents that have two jobs to support their families. We have a variety of ethnic groups and home languages. Our students are eager to learn. They come to school every day with great attitudes despite what happens at home and they want to go to college and be successful. Statistics show that our students are most at risk of failure and dropping out. Don't let these great kids have academic success pass them by. Students that come from very diverse homes need to build their self-confidence to be successful in life. Teaching kids in poverty implies the need to express how successful they are being during their learning. We need to provide positive feedback all the time.
My Project
We have all been in a classroom trying to learn a new language and there is so much to learn and said we need away to remember or visualize our learning. My students need a way to find in the classroom visual clues to help them learn. Making posters for them will increase their speaking ability. We need a poster size printer to create math anchor charts to help understand math vocabulary in Spanish. In our Spanish Dual Immersion Class it is hard to find posters of good quality at a reasonable price. We will create posters to celebrate our learning and create inspirational posters.
We also need some bags and folders to organize our math materials.
Durable bags will help us be more efficient with our time. My students will be able to find their math facts faster and become fluent at learning them. We will store some of our puzzles to learn about maps with these plastic envelops.
