Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have an amazing class of 25 students who are mostly Latino and African American. Most students comes from a home where English is the second language and are in the first generation to be educated in the United States. Some have special needs, are homeless or in foster care.

Our school is in Los Angeles, and poverty won't stop the learning!

Ours is a poor community with limited resources. But, my students are not poor in spirit, imagination or desire to learn. And they have a teacher whose abundance mindset helps them along the way!

We love learning through creative storytelling. We love exploring digital possibilities and learning about the careers of the future. My students are very creative and their parents also contribute to the class creativity by participating when we have school projects that require them to be involved.

My Project

Students will be able to create a design or logo that is unique to them. We will use the materials to print t-shirts that students can proudly wear.

Creating and naming your world is a healthy way for students to express themselves.

They might want to use words like "fierce," "terrific," or "reader." They may want to create something that spells out a goal- like "I'm going to college!" A printing press is a unique way for students to showcase who they are and to create a lasting impression (pun intended).
