Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 525 students come to our school from various walks of life and different life experiences. We have students who are local as well as students who are bussed from across town. These various experiences create a diverse richness in our learning community that is unparalleled. Our students get a hands-on global studies learning experience simply by interacting with their peers. During this unprecedented time that we are all living in, my students have dealt with not only a variety of emotional strains, but many are also helping provide their families with support. Given these varying yet all-difficult situations, it is imperative that as a School Counselor, I be there to support my students every step of the way with the right technological equipment needed- for their Academic, Social-Emotional, and College/Career success.
My Project
The use of a printer is a necessity for working in a school. As a Counselor, I frequently print various academic reports, Individual Graduation Progress Plans, guidance curriculum worksheets, parent memos and letters, semester grade follow-ups, scholarship announcements for post-secondary plans, mini-cumulative one-pagers, and countless other typed reminders and encouraging memorandums for my students. Since school closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I have been without a printer and therefore unable to print various record-keeping documents that are vital to my students' success. Your help would allow my students and parents to continue to receive mailed communication from me regarding their child's academic progress.
