This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My second grade students will be learning the Delaware Artist Edward Loper.
The students will be learning about the printing process while experimenting with the medium for the first time.
My 2nd grade artists will use the styrofoam plates to draw the Delaware houses and buildings. After, they will print their drawings, using the printing rollers and the printing ink, on paper. The student will be able to choose from many colors in order to make them colorful, much like Edward Loper's artwork.
This Delaware landscape will be a mixed media project where the young artist will be able to later add other details such as the sky or writing on the buildings by using watercolor pencils.
After the pieces are completed, the students will reflect on the process and will be able to write about their first experience using this mixed media.
