Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year, I am proud to be the team leader at my school. This means the world to me as this was my elementary school. As their coach/leader, I can experience so many of the different learning environments.
Seeing so many of my students every morning with the eagerness to learn has shown me that this has been the best professional decision I have made in my career.
I know that this year will be one for the record books not only for all the students and teachers but for me as well because we will work together as a village to make magic once again this year.
Our school is located in a low-economic neighborhood where about 90% of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Many come from broken homes that have been separated because of their dream to come to the United States or because of natural disasters. Some of the students in my school suffer from Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD), are ESL students (English as a Second Language), and/or have other types of special needs. Regardless of their challenges, though, the majority of the students are very determined and eager to succeed.
My Project
In a time of budget cuts, having a printer is a luxury. We currently do not have a color printer in our Media Center and the printers in our other community areas are as extinct as dinosaurs, often out of ink or out of order. We need an HP color wireless printer so that students can print reports and projects after reading books checked out from the school library. A wireless printer would also enable me to share the printer across several classrooms, making it possible for several classes to print when completing assignments with teachers. It is so frustrating not to be able to print. A printer would make it so much easier for everyone.
We need an HP Color Wireless printer, so that we can print in our Media Center.
Printing is a basic and essential need in any school and it is definitely in need in ours.
