Printing Activities

My Students

I teach a group of twenty English as second language Pre-K students. Our school is in a high-poverty urban district which lacks the funds to keep our technology and teaching resources up-to-date.

My second language learners master content through hands-on experiences and play.

My students know no English when they walk through my classroom door in August, but are fluent explorers by mid-school year.

It is my goal to give each child a differentiated learning experience while giving them real world opportunities and access to the experiences that other children their age receive.

My Project

My students and I love to create! We write and illustrate our own books, we take pictures of classroom activities and print them out to show parents, and we love being able to copy and share our work.

Having a printer in our classroom allows us to keep a copy of our student's beautiful work for their portfolios, while giving their parents their child's original piece of work.

We never have to decide whether to keep work samples or send them home, it gives us the best of both worlds.

Having direct access to a printer also helps us make quick copies of doctors notes, notes home or parent information. It helps keep our parents informed and in touch with what is happening in our classroom.
