Some of my students have disabilities and have difficulty organizing their thoughts. Some of my students are English Language Learners and need graphic organizers to help with their language acquisition. Printing is a must in this environment.
My students vary from general education, special education, and English Language Learners.
The majority of the students are on poverty level and at times, do not even have a pencil and paper to bring to school. They are eager to learn, but struggle when not given the proper tools.
My Project
My students can use the materials by printing graphic organizers. This will allow the students to have print ready material at any moment needed, especially if I find a student struggling with a specific skill, materials may be printed at the moments. Students may work on presentations and print them in the classroom. Also, my students tend to lose their work and I have to make copies, which I usually have to wait until my prep to provide them with the work, this will allow me to instantly provide the student with their work without them missing too much class time. I envision these resources to be easily accessed for immediate assistance toward the students, instead of my usual waiting to go home and print their work.
The students tend to hand write their essays because they do not have anywhere to print their work.
If needed work on the spot, this may be printed. Use of graphic organizers is a must in my classroom and homework's are usually print outs. This easy access to the printer will encourage student learning.
