I teach fourth grade in a NYC public school. Our school is located in one of the most diverse areas in the nation. Our multicultural school community brings a rich perspective to our learning and our parents look to us to provide the best resources to ensure their children's success.
My fourth grade students are highly motivated, enthusiastic learners.
They produce a great deal of work that I always hoped to share with the school and their families. We realize the need for technology so that we can remain academically competitive with twenty first century skills. With that in mind, we wish to fulfill our commitment to our families to secure the resources for success. That includes the ability to display work by acquiring a wireless printer that can both print student work and generate copies. This will enhance all aspects of literacy while promoting technological skills.
My Project
The printer I have requested is moderately priced but still beyond our ability to fund. I have also requested toner so that we able to print throughout the school year should this proposal be successful. This printer model in particular is robust and an appropriate tool for the elementary school classroom. Today one can not promote literacy and accountability without the ability to display student work that demonstrates learning. My students will be so excited to be able to print, in color, reflective of the real world. The fact that it is digital will allow us to print for display, in school, while making copies to go home to our families.
To date we do not have a printer in our classroom.
It would be such a time saver and help find instructional if we could have a printer in our classroom. We are hoping that this printer and toner will be able to make contributions to our work and literacy this year.
