This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are very energetic 8 and 9year-olds who are excited about learning. They love to read and write and engage in conversations with their peers. They are eager to read both literature and nonfiction and write about what they’ve read. Many of my students began elementary school without foundational reading skills, but they have been working hard to attain grade-level standards. Most of my students are second language learners. Reading in the classroom is essential to their continued success!
My Project
My wonderful students are finally back in the classroom after a year and a half of distance learning. There are many challenges that we are facing moving forward. Many of my students need to stay home due to illness or quarantine. I need to be able to send them printed work so that they do not fall further behind.
Providing my students access to materials is crucial to their continued success.
We do not have access to a working copy machine on a regular basis. This printer will allow me to print and send home work with students who have to miss school during this challenging time.
