Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a second-grade inclusion classroom with a mixture of general education and special needs students in a high needs area in the Bronx. My students are a group of diverse learners, with a wide range of abilities.
Many of my students enjoy being in school and coming into my classroom every day; they see it as a consistent part of their lives.
With their desire to learn and the effort they put forth, these children inspire me every day.
Being a Title I school, the majority of students come from low-income homes, shelters, or homes with limited parental involvement, but they are enthusiastic and come to school every day ready to learn. They see school as a consistent part of their daily lives and love to make me proud. My students are some of the happiest children I have ever had the pleasure of working with, and they inspire me to provide the best education I can for them.
My Project
This high-quality printer will allow the students immediate access to all of the math materials we need to be successful in the classroom. Unfortunately, right now, our school, which holds about one thousand students, has ONE working printer for all the teachers to use. There are times when I am not able to get the resources I need from a computer because the printer is unavailable. As a result, the lessons have to be changed making them not as exciting.
With this printer, I plan on printing anything and everything we will need for our curriculum, but most important centers.
Students love to receive materials in bright, vibrant colors, so this one piece of technology will ensure that happens. Working in my school, it is so important to grab students' attention immediately, which this printer will allow me to do!
