This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a reading intervention specialist, I work with a targeted group of students who are performing well below grade-level expectations in the area of reading. Because they have such an intense need for quality instruction, their education must be data-driven. I spend much of my time outside of teaching, analyzing student data to determine what is working, what is not, who is making progress, and what my next steps should be. This data is essential to what I do, but the technology I'm currently using is about ten years old and presents its challenges. My new class does not have a printer, and I have to go to the parent center to use theirs. I'll be able to use the printer to print reading passages that match the lessons students have learned in class daily and to print data.
