it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class is an energetic, excited, and overwhelmingly enthusiastic group of Kindergartners. They love coming to school and interacting with their peers and teachers. They are a funny, dedicated, and inquisitive group of students who run into the classroom and don't want to leave! They are four and five-year-old students who need lessons and activities to keep them engaged in learning. Our school is a new school with pre-kindergarten through second-grade students. Our school has a high population of English Language Learners, Special Education students, and students from various cultural backgrounds. Our students need a high level of support for them to learn at their best.
My Project
My students have become amazing digital storytellers! They love to use our classroom iPad to take pictures of things they see in their world and use those images to write digital stories. They have often asked if they can print out their digital stories and turn them into "real" books. I do not have a printer in the classroom. There is one printer that is shared with seven other classrooms so I'm not able to allow my students to print out their digital stories. The printer that we share never has any ink and most of the time it is broken.
I would like to have a printer in the classroom so that my young Kindergarten students can print and publish their digital storybooks.
This will show my students how important writing is and the value in it. To print out the words they wrote and be able to read their book to other students, teachers or their families would be an amazing opportunity for my young writers!
