My Students

My young scholars are from East Point, GA and are apart of the RISE Grammar school which has a focus on Social Justice. My scholars all come from a diverse socio-economic background ranging from those who arrive to school in a Tesla and those who use our bus service. My job has allowed me the opportunity to find meaningful ways to find value and blend our experiences together.

Our scholars are the heartbeat of our school.

Our scholars were recently recognized for their role in our county's Stock Market Games. Our scholars have proven that their desire to "RISE" has surpassed any deficiency their circumstances have dealt them. Our scholars are determined and they are driven.

My Project

Our students are going to learn about the art of photography. They are going to learn the fundamentals concepts of composition, exposure, and lighting. My students will be able to examine and showcase their work. We will be able to track their progress as they strive to master photographic skills. We will go on field trips and do photo walks and print out a tangible artifact for review.

The shift to digital media has disconnected us from a tangible appreciation of art.

Our students will be able to create and document a running portfolio to submit at the end of the academic year.
