This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students at our PreK-8 Yonkers school come from diverse and often challenging backgrounds, with many facing the struggles of growing up in an inner-city environment. Despite these obstacles, they are highly motivated to improve their skills and succeed academically. With a wide range of learning needs and strengths, it’s essential that we provide resources tailored to help each student thrive and reach their full potential.

Their enthusiasm for learning and growth is inspiring, and with the right tools, they can achieve greatness in reading and writing.

In our reading and writing classroom (grades 6-8), we are in need of printer ink to create essential learning materials that support the diverse needs of our students. These materials include reading assignments, graphic organizers, vocabulary charts, writing prompts, and students' personal writing and literature responses tailored to different reading and writing levels. By having access to printed resources, we can ensure that all students are engaged—whether they’re struggling readers, advanced learners, or budding writers—giving each one the tools to succeed.

My goal is to provide students with printed materials that will enhance their understanding of reading and writing. These materials will support student engagement, comprehension, and expression.
