My Students

We are proud to be authorized in the PYP, MYP, and DP offering an IB education from K - 12.

There are only 25 schools in North America and the Caribbean who hold this distinction.

Our high school is one of the most ethnically diverse schools in Chicago (27% white, 28% Hispanic, and 33 % Black, and 7% Asian). Forty-seven percent of our students are eligible for free or reduced-priced lunch. Eleven percent of our students have Individual Education Programs (IEPs) and receive support in co-taught classrooms as well as extra resource time. Half of our students come from our elementary school and the other half apply from all over the city.

My Project

Most students are visual learners. The printer toner will allow the students to visualize their learning in the form of data, graphs, and graphic organizers. Students will have step-by-step guidance through their notes so they feel mastery in chunks.

Unfortunately, printer ink is not provided by our school.

Your donation will help students develop their thinking through scaffolded worksheets and questions. Students will also be able to create data tables and graphs as evidence for their arguments. The whiteboards are useful for presenting data, but printing computerized graph is most convincing when students are doing graphical analysis of slope and y-intercepts.
