My Students

As a teacher in a Title One school district with a high low-income immigrant population, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite all the challenges they may face day in and day out, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with unique and meaningful learning experiences.

My students have special needs, but they are a loving, caring and eager group of young learners.

Their individual needs may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical". However, from the minute they walk into my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control anything outside of my classroom; however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day. By doing this in a unique and positive way, I am hopeful to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic success.

My Project

During this difficult time, my students are learning from home. I want to be able to support my visual learners with hand-outs and samples, but in order to make that a reality, I would need access to a printer so I can either print resources to show them or for them to see as attached documents.

A printer, at this time, is essential to their learning.

I can make sure that they are making the progress they would make if they were learning in the classroom with the visual charts that are usually available to them.
