My Students

Being a teacher in a rural high poverty/low-income Title 1 school district, I strive for every student to have an equal opportunity in receiving a quality education. Limited to technology at home, it is important for me to create projects and assignments that can be modified according to students’ access.

I believe that many of our students need the extra attention of prep for the ACT testing that they do not get in the classroom.

By reaching 300+ students a year, these prep test books and tablets will help students achieve higher scores to broaden their options for colleges with the skills they are wanting to pursue. We preach about sending students out to be role model pillars in our community, so I believe that we need to find every avenue to continue to help them reach their goals.

My Project

This project has been proposed in an attempt to provide students with technology to further assist their education and economic need. The flash drives will be used in the form of loaning out to students to transfer essays and applications from home or a computer lab. Students will then print their information on the printer. This will be a Student Scholarship Committee printer.

Students will use this printer to scan and print all required documents for college and scholarship applications.

Extra ink has been requested in order to ensure that students have all the technology needed to produce the correct forms in order to seek a higher education opportunity.
