My Students

My students are energetic, fun-loving, eager second graders who look forward to coming to school every day. My students face many challenges such as disabilities, lack of supplies, and language barriers because their native language is not English, but despite these challenges, they are eager and ready to learn.

Every day, I strive to meet their various needs in any way that I can.

I try to create an engaging and peaceful work environment so their minds can soar! By making sure they have what they need to be academically successful, safe, healthy, and secure, I am helping them to be as productive as possible.

My students live in a low-income, inner-city neighborhood, and they have struggles at home. It is my job to make sure they are able to accomplish what they wish to in school. One of my goals, as a teacher, is to provide things that my children are lacking and to create a positive learning environment. My students love to experience new things and visit new places such as the many field trips that I take them on. I also try to keep their bellies full and their minds open to learning new things.

My Project

A color printer will make a difference in my students' learning because color is engaging and enhances learning. This printer will be used for printing of visual aids such as a vocabulary wall for our literacy program, pictures to add to anchor charts and our book library, certificates for students, and other digital resources that can enhance the learning in my classroom. Students will be able to use the vocabulary wall that includes pictures to have a deeper understanding of the texts that we are reading in class.

Having this printer and ink will help me to be more creative and create a more engaging and useful work environment.

I am also a teacher who has English Language Learners in my classroom and having access to be able to print out pictures will also help them to learn. This printer will allow us to copy and scan papers and objects that I might also need to do.
