it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work as an occupational therapist in a public school serving students with disabilities, where the challenges of living in a low-income area are met with resilience and determination. My students are creative, eager to learn, and full of potential. Despite their challenges, they strive to grow in skills that enable them to participate more fully in the classroom, school activities, and everyday life.
A printer in my therapy room would be a game-changer for my students’ success, allowing me to create, customize, and provide hands-on resources tailored to their specific needs.
From visual schedules, sensory coping strategies, and fine motor skill-building activities to classroom modifications like adapted seating charts or communication tools, this printer will become a crucial tool in helping my students achieve their occupational therapy goals. This printer will also enable me to immediately support classroom teachers by providing materials that integrate therapeutic strategies into their lessons. Access to these resources can help students generalize skills learned in therapy and thrive academically and socially.
Having a printer will ensure my students have access to high-quality, evidence-based therapy materials that support their growth and independence.
