For many children their school becomes a place that is safe and comfortable. With that being said their classroom becomes their home away from home. This is true for my students. However, this second home is one that is extremely diverse in many aspects.
My students are bright and have so much to offer one another with all their different cultures and even life experiences.
My student's needs also vary depending on them. We know all individuals are different which means their style of learning is different, and their emotional needs are different. I have students who fall on grade level, where other fall above and below too. Another diversity within in classroom is English Language Learners.
Each and every student within the class fits perfectly into our class puzzle. We as a whole are each a puzzle piece put together to create one amazing piece of art. I like to call this art... family.
My Project
The students will be using the printer in order to publish their writing and be proud of their work they have composed. Many students don't have the access to show their writing in a well organized 'published' format. Having this printer will have student express their work by using different fonts and styles in a way that they are the publisher and in control of their work.
By publishing work through prints, this will help the students want to complete their writing.
Not just write to do the assignment but rather, write to have ownership and feel proud of their accomplishments. Students will also get the chance to engage in more writing. By encouraging students with the printer (for published work) students will be more willing to write in order to have their work printed or rather published.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
