How can my students learn and share without a printer in our classroom?
I am a first grade teacher at a Title I school where over 44% of our student population participates in our free breakfast and lunch program.
Also, a significant number of our students are English language learners. Our families come from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds.
My Project
My students and I would greatly benefit from receiving an HP Photosmart Plus color printer for our classroom. A printer is a fundamental need for teachers and students. I will be able to create assignments and download enrichment activities in color! This printer will also allow me to make copies in my classroom right away instead of waiting to go to another building. I won't need to tell the children, "I'll have to do this later!" The students will be able to make vibrant color copies of their work instead of everything being just black and white. We will be able to make color copies off of the Internet of subjects we've read about in books, for example, the Northern Lights. Can you imagine a picture of the Northern Lights in black and white? Also, I take a lot of photos of the children throughout the year. With this HP Photosmart Plus Printer, I can process the photos in the classroom and have them printed up quickly. The benefits are endless.
With a financially strapped school district, the chances of replacing broken equipment is non-existent.
This donation will provide learning possibilities and educational benefits for years to come.
