My gym and classroom is a bright, upbeat positive environment for all of my students to learn and be successful in. I enjoy having my students come into class ready to learn and ready for the next lesson! I have grown to adore my students and want to give them everything I can!
My students live in a very diverse area where school is looked at as a safe and fun environment for them.
My school is very old, but inside the walls has a lot to offer. We are trying to improve the learning environment in any way we can since our building is lacking. We try to create a positive and loving environment. These 7th and 8th graders come to school on a daily basis to enjoy the stability we give them and to be a part of something bigger than themselves. We use every opportunity we can to allow our students to feel like this is home. We treat our kids with respect, and they give it back. We create a positive place for our students and give them the accountability they need. Day in and day out students come to school excited about the new opportunities.
My Project
Being in the gym leaves us out of the loop and a ways away from civilization! Having a printer for the gym will allow students access to handouts, assignments, rubrics and tests. It is difficult to have all materials printed and ready to go before school starts everyday. If I happen to forget something, make a mistake or get a document that needs to be printed in the middle of the day I can't make it down to the main area of the school to print anything.
If a printer was available for the PE department and our students, students could also use it to make signs and posters to hang up in the locker room and gym.
Printing signs and posters would look more uniform and professional, rather than handwritten, which better represents my students! Having a printer just for us would allow high quality assignments, tests and assessments to be printed immediately.
