I teach at a low-income school with a diverse and transient population. We have students from all over the globe. Many come to school speaking a language other than English. Some of our students attend from kindergarten to 8th grade, but our school neighborhood is mainly in a transient, low socio-economic bracket.
A typical day at our school has the students doing writing, reading, individualized projects, music, math, physical education, and using technology.
Our teachers like to differentiate as much as they can in order to help our students and individualize assignments as needed.
We are a preschool through eighth grade school and our teaching staff and aides are always at the copy machine making sure we have the right materials ready for our students. No one wants to be the one that gets to the machine when it breaks down and that is a weekly occurrence with our current copier.
Our teachers have been known to go to a local copy shop at their own expense to have the resources for their classes ready on time.
It would be a real help to our students to have a multifunction printer and toner available to us.
