This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My students will gain a better understanding of real-world items when they see these items in color print. Some of these items include bills, coins, advertisements, community signs, bus routes, etc. Having a color printer for my students will allow me to print items they need to differentiate by color.
On top of the hurdles our students already face, they are also challenged with disabilities that they have no control over which qualifies them for Special Education.
This basic printer will allow me to print, copy and scan lessons, activities, and documents, without missing a beat of classroom instruction.
Our classroom needs a color printer for the classroom so that engagement and comprehension can be strong. According to one report, more than half of students are more likely to read a handout and engage in discussions when the print is in color. Nearly seven in ten students can better comprehend new information when delivered through a color format. More than three-quarters of students report having better information recall when they read it on a color page. This is especially important when working with students with Learning Disabilities who struggle with retaining information and processing information.
