This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Although we have many new rules and regulations to start our new year, our classroom is working hard to stay healthy and safe. Our community school is very diverse where many backgrounds and languages are represented. For most of our students, English is not the primary language. As a result, my students face challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the challenges they face on an everyday basis, I am always looking to provide my students with meaningful learning experiences.
My Project
As a 5th grade teacher with a class composed of different learning styles including many students who are learning English, I see how important it is to provide as many visuals as possible for my students as I introduce new vocabulary in literacy and math. Currently, I have to print all of our new vocabulary words at home since I do not have access to a color printer. As a result, I am requesting a color printer that will allow me to print off vocabulary words and books that target specific skills we are working on instantly in our classroom.
