My students need a variety of read-along CD sets, such as "Jack and the Beanstalk," "Little Red Riding Hood" and "Shrek!," for a unit study on Fairy Tales and Folktales.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
What child doesn't love stories about princesses, Little Red Riding Hood, and Goldilocks? My students are no exception and they would love to listen in and read along to fairy tales and folktales.
Simply put, my first graders are amazing storytellers.
I teach an inclusion classroom with both special needs and general education students learning together. My students with special needs have delays in speech and language development. All of my students love listening to rich literature during story time.
My Project
We are in need of fairy tales and folktales on CD to listen to during independent reading time. The story sets for the Gingerbread Man and Goldilocks will help students retell a story by using sequencing cards. All of the book sets will allow students to build fluency skills, and to develop stronger reading comprehension skills.
What better way to engage first graders in a unit on fairy tales and folktales, than to have them listen to stories on CD?!
