My Students
Can you help us have an easel in our classroom? The easel will be utilize in whole group lessons as well as individually by the students.
My students come to me as early readers.
They are not only learning to read but also developing their love for reading. I am striving to create a classroom environment that will nurture that love, inspire the students, and keep them engaged in all aspects of the English language.
My Project
This year I will be implementing the Literacy CAFÉ and Daily Five literacy instruction program. My students will be able to rotate and choose from the Daily Five Choices of Read to Self, Read to Someone, Work on Writing, Listen to Reading, and Word Work. During the Daily Five block of our schedule, students work independently throughout the classroom to develop their literacy. I would like an easel for student to utilize during the Word Work portion of the Daily Five. Students will be able to practice their spelling words and strategies on the easel. Also, I will be able to conduct my whole group lessons on reading strategies for the Literacy CAFÉ on the easel.

This will facilitate whole group, small group, and individual instruction. Our classroom would benefit greatly by having this easel in it.
