Learning can be shared with others and is so much more fun when presented in an aesthetically pleasing manner. My students are from rural backgrounds with a majority of them in a farming type of enterprise. These students work hard to make the world a better place.
My students are eager, ready and willing to make a difference in this world and especially their own community.
They feel empowered and are better citizens when we help them help themselves and each other.
My Project
Help us spend less time prepping and more time doing activities so we can learn in a more hands-on way. My request is for a Cricut machine with all the necessary mats and cutters to use in my classroom for multiple purposes. The Cricut can be used to create individual flash cards, word sorts, writing prompts, bulletin boards and creative extension projects. I would use the machine to help my students create signs and posters for hallway decorations as well as for the science fair.
Students will thrive with the ability to design projects they have created and hopefully will see more opportunities for careers using digital design.
I would use the Cricut machine to help other classrooms create similar products, bulletin boards and liven up their activities and classroom. Many of my students would not have the opportunity to work with such a machine or to liven up an area such as the school hallway, a space that the students would take pride in and want to enjoy every day.
