Prezis, Powerpoints and Projects Galore!

My students need a tablet and case in the classroom. I want them to be able to present using technology using Prezis, Powerpoints and many more interactive programs!!

My Students

While pencil and paper will never be replaced, my students need to be presenting their data using technology and programming such as Prezi and Animoto. Seeing these programs once or twice during their technology "rotation" is not the best way to create a classroom full of 21st century learners.

Active and thirsty for attention.

That is how I would describe my students. I would love to see them emailing their families the presentations they create in class rather than send home a folder of worksheets (and they would rather create something online as well). If I can provide more pieces of technology for them to use to create Prezis, Power Points and Animotos I feel like I would have a more engaged group of learners. My school is not the type of school where I can send them home with the steps needed in order to create an online presentation or even something in Word. Technology and access to the Internet are luxuries most of the students at my school can not afford. I want to be the teacher they remember for showing them all the great things computers can do for them! Who knows maybe in my classroom I have the next creator of social media, online outreach, or urban renewal specialist!

My Project

We will be using this new tablet (and case) in class throughout the curriculum to create Jeopardy games for math review, Prezis to make social studies come to life (learning how to embed videos) and Power Points while learning about how to write a winning persuasive presentation. The students will rotate with a draft station and conference with me before creating their piece. I would love to see them email their families what they have created.

These students need to see what THEY are capable of.

I will simply be the teacher that showed them how to present themselves to the world. I can't wait to hear from the first parent who emails me about getting a project their 4th grader created and sent to them!
