Pretend Today, Change the World Tomorrow!

My students need giant foam blocks to turn dramatic play and our rug area into a performing arts haven for unstructured and imaginative play.

My Students

Our early childhood school is now in its tenth year serving the community. In our Pre-K class, that means over 180 students will have come and gone from this Pre-K classroom. Along with that, many other students have called our room home for enrichment classes, after-school programs, and summer camp.

Families send their precious children to our class every day, for us to help them take those first steps towards accomplishing great feats.

Children make this room their home for however long they stay and miss it dearly when they move on. It's something we take pride in, and we hope to continue doing what we love to do and that nurtures their love for learning.

I've been teaching at my first and current school for six years. No matter who enters through that door, they are part of our school family. I hope to provide them with the absolute best education we can offer.

My Project

Imagination is what leads to innovative ideas and eventually brings about great changes in our world. Children aren't given enough opportunity to pretend and let their imagination run wild as they grow older. Play Centers is a time during the day that allows our students to explore and pretend.

Our teaching philosophy is based on our children's interest.

Our students show a lot of what they know through play. Play center is where our students are able to show a lot of their interest and how they view the world. The goal of this project is to create an environment where our kids can continue to show us what they are interested in which allows for the teacher to help students further explore their inquiries. Drama is an art form. By allowing students to engage in dramatic play, we are empowering students through art and further empowering them by exploring their interests. There are no right or wrong answers.

The new giant foam blocks will add new ideas for our children in dramatic play. They will be able to implement build and move around blocks with ease and safety to restructure the space however they wish. Children can use it to create and build items such as boats, buses, fire stations, and anything there mind conjures up.
