My students are all on the autism spectrum. They struggle with tasks most take for granted like saying, "Hello!" or naming a favorite color. Basic everyday activities are difficult for my students. To best meet their needs, I need to provide engaging learning materials and developmentally appropriate toys. These dress up clothes, play food, and pretend play activities will help build play, communication and social skills. The cardstock, laminating film and adhesive dots will be used to create supplemental activities for our dramatic play area. The baskets and bins will provide organized storage so the children can easily access the materials.

Their smiles light up the room! They are pre-K, TK, and kindergarten students with autism in a school setting where 60% of our populations receives free or reduced-price lunch. As their teacher, I must continually find ways to motivate my students to learn new things, foster their independence, boost their confidence, regulate their sensory needs, and develop their communication skills. These activities will both engage them and help my students develop foundational skills.
