This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students range from Pre-K to fifth grade. We are a low income, elementary school. Our kids are active and love learning. We are trying to motivate our kids to find a passion in learning and to be excited to come to school. Art can be a great way to motivate kids to do better and learn new things. With new art supplies, I can help them in all areas, like math and reading. They are so appreciative of everything they receive and would really love your support.

My Project

A lot of my students lost their homes to Harvey. Luckily our school was spared, however, I am trying to make art extra special this year with some new and exciting projects. I really want to provide a fun relaxing place for my students to come and create and take a break from everything going on in their lives. With your help, I will be able to allow my students to do printing press projects this year. It is something new that we have never done before. I plan on using it to help them show how they are feeling and hopefully be a way to bring some joy during this hard time.
