My Students
Despite the challenges of growing up in a low-socioeconomic community in the era of Covid-19, my students demonstrate a willingness to press onward in an effort to learn and grow. All of the students receive free and reduced-price lunch. They are persistent, hard-working, and full of optimism. As they embrace the "power of yet," they understand that every choice and action they make today pushes them forward to fulfill their destiny.
My Project
Obtaining access to dual screens will aid the teacher in providing collaborative opportunities to the students by helping with monitoring during online meeting breakout sessions. Students will be able to engage in rich discourse within smaller groups while still benefitting from teacher guidance.
Obtaining access to a Nearpod gold subscription will help the teacher ensure student engagement through the use of a highly interactive, enriching instructional tool.
Students will be able to work at their own pace or work along with the teacher to formulate a deep understanding of the content through the use of online software. Funds for this type of resource has been severely slashed by our school system due to the financial strain of COVID-19.
