Our school serves special needs students from across seven surrounding school districts.

Our students have a wide range of disabilities including autism, emotional disturbances, intellectual disabilities, and specific learning disabilities. We are a self-contained program that incorporates academic and life skills to support students with behavioral challenges.

My Project

My students need a Westinghouse Microwave and three cookbooks. My vision for creating "home" spaces to help students learn how to fully function in society is coming true. We have a complete bedroom and fully functioning kitchen. This project supports the kitchen by adding a microwave and cookbooks. Many of our students are loving learning to cook, but we still don't have a microwave. These books will enable students to learn recipes that be made with the use of a microwave only.

One of the requested cookbooks is for non-readers.

This will enable ALL of our students equal access when cooking. Thank you for helping bring home to school while creating opportunities for students to be prepared when leaving our program. Independence is awesome!
