Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My PreK little learners are eager to learn every single day. One of their favorite activities is when I read them a book. Read-alouds are an effective way to share literature with young children and support language and early literacy development. The materials requested in this project will create a listening center for my students to enjoy and learn from every day.
This will help to develop early literacy skills by giving them the opportunity to listen, to a shared story and engage in group discussions.
The read-along books in this project will also be an expansion of what we are doing in our classroom. My students will have the opportunity to listen to a story that we read aloud together when their visit our listening center. Having these read-along books in my classroom will help me achieve my goal of teaching my students the love of books and reading.
