My Students
Fourth grade is a difficult transition for most students. The upcoming school year will require lots of joy, fun, and creativity, as COVID presented us with many challenges and gaps in learning. At my school, fourth-grade students have multiple teachers because their classes are departmentalized. The level of thinking greatly intensifies in fourth grade. This is partly due to learning deficits and life circumstances beyond their control. A great majority of my students are impacted by poverty and language barriers. 100% of my students receive free lunch. One-third of my students are ELL learners. Most of them are eager to learn but need to experience more joy to push to the next level.
My Project
As an educator, it is my duty to teach the whole child. This year as part of PBIS, my team and I will be teaching third and fourth grade students to use their creativity to make t-shirts designs of their choice.
The heat transfer vinyl, Cricut tools and Cricut heat press will be used to create t-shirts for our grade level "Students of the Month" and holiday celebrations.
In addition, our materials and tools will be used to create grade level t-shirts, designs for masks, hats, sun visors and other items that students can put logos on.
