This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher, I feel like one of the luckiest people in the world to get to work with 24 wonderful students every day. I work in a Title I school in East Palo Alto, California. My school has about 90% of our students who qualify for free or reduced price lunch. All of my students come from families that do many things to help provide their children with happy and healthy lives. Unfortunately, many of my parents are either unable to provide their children with the proper education tools or are unaware of the proper education tools to help their children.

Many of the families have both parents working multiple jobs or even just one parent active in their lives working multiple jobs.

My kids come to school happy every day, ready to learn, excited about life, and I just want to give them the best education possible.

My Project

Being in a low income school district, most of the visual in my class are made by me. They are then used by multiple students over the course of the year. If the papers are not laminated then they have to be remade after almost every class. If we had a laminator and the laminating pouches we could make the visuals last years instead of days.

Please help our materials last longer.

A laminator will help save time, paper, and frustration. The students and I would greatly appreciate your donations towards a new laminator. Please consider helping us bring this tool into our classroom.
