Many of my students are on free and reduced lunch and come from low-income households where educational resources are very limited. The love that they have towards school and learning at such a young age, amazes me. Such love gives me the drive I need to be the best teacher for them and provide them with whatever they need to succeed.
My students walk into the classroom every day full of life, excited to learn and eager to see what is in store for them each day.
However, despite the challenges they face at home they always enter school with smiling faces and ready minds.
My Project
My young learners love to explore. Many of the materials and games used within the classroom are primarily from paper. A laminating machine and pouches will allow my students to explore freely without having to worry about messing up the resources. Laminating will preserve their instructional resources/materials in order for them to use them when necessary and not have to recreate them due to high usage.
By having a laminator on site, I can preserve prepared materials and created work to ensure that our students are free to touch, explore and manipulate our materials safely during our learning periods.
My young little students haven't mastered the appropriate behaviors of respecting other people's property yet. Often times they simply get so excited that they forget to use their gentle hands when using books, and other easily ripped materials. The laminator will allow us to use our materials for years to come!
