Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
With all the cut backs from the district, teachers find themselves scavenging for every little piece of materials and trying to preserve them so that students can use the them over and over. We find it hard to do with out a laminator. Please help!
I have 22 students who are 2nd graders and attend a public school in an urban area.
Many student in our school lack the motivation to learn. You hear them say, "this is boring" or a yawn or a shrug of their shoulders. I believe student motivation naturally has to do with students' desire to participate in the learning process. That is why I have created these games to entice their motivation and therefore spark their learning.
My Project
Every year I create educational games that reinforce their learning. I call these games Happy Hour Games. Happy Hour Games, are flash cards that reinforce the lesson taught in class. Students each get a card and find their matching partner. Example: Antonyms, one student would have happy and another student would have sad. When you ring the bell they have to find each other, either by reading and saying their word out loud or reading each others card, until they find each other. But with all the use, I find myself redoing these games. With your generous help my students now and in the future will be able to enjoy them. It would really benefit the students if we would keep our tools and work neat, organized, and clean thanks to the laminating machine. Moreover, it would have a great impact on my students' academic progress since the tools could be reused several times.
It's simple.
I create the games that inspire our kids to learn and explore. All I need is creativity, laminator, and laminating materials! In return the students will have fun while practicing the skills over and over and therefore will be more motivated and successful in completing their work.
