Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are a Title I, dual-immersion urban school. Our gathering spaces are limited and small. Having a mobile smart whiteboard will allow for students in the upper grades to present their projects to a larger parent and school audience. It will facilitate assemblies and parent meetings.
Part of language learning is the ability and opportunity to speak and present publicly.
Without a larger space to gather, students at the school present their learning in crowded rooms and to a limited audiences. Having a mobile smart white board would allow students to present their learning to a larger audience of peers and parents.
A mobile smart whiteboard will also allow for larger parent meetings. Currently, if there is a large parent gathering, leadership is not able to present a slide show presentation. Having the smart white board would enhance communication, providing visuals and written messages on a larger screen. Many of our parents and students are multilingual and need visuals and sound to better understand the information presented to them. We have an incredibly diverse population and they deserve the best education possible along with access to the best technology. The smart white board allows students an opportunity to expand their audience and share their learning more broadly.
