My Students
My students are truly amazing! Despite most of them coming form low-income, single parent households, they can't wait to come to school and learn all there is to learn! Because we are a Dual Language classroom, all the students are second language learners and well on their way to mastery of both the English and Spanish languages. In order to meet the students' needs and also allow them to advance in the acquisition of their second language, students spend half their time in a classroom focusing on concepts taught in the English language and the other half of their time in a classroom focusing on concepts taught in the Spanish language. This will enable each of the students to be completely bilingual in our ever changing global society.
My students also improve their 21st Century Learning Skills working as teams to solve real world problems and presenting them to the class, their parents and even the community!
My students truly are preparing to be tomorrow's leaders!
My Project
My students would really benefit from having a mobile, magnetic, dry erase board and chart stand. It could be used to present either whole group or small group lessons.
Students would also be able to use the mobile dry erase board and chart stand to present their projects to one another, the class, their parents or even the community!
Students benefit from the critical thinking, problem solving,creativity, teamwork and collaboration necessary for Project Based Learning. With this dry erase board and chart stand, they will also benefit by learning some very important public speaking and presentation skills. Again, learning and practicing skills they will need to become the leaders of tomorrow!
