This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am the librarian of a low income alternative high school that is located about 15 minutes from the Mexican border. Our school library is an essential to our learning environment. I service both English and Spanish speaking students from 9th to 12th. They come into the library for books, lessons and as many varied activities as I strive to provide. My current endeavor is to provide my eager students with as much new technology opportunities as possible. They are all excited about the possibility of adding some much needed technology to our library.

My Project

Students will use the ASUS Chromebook Flip laptops to do research, type, and create presentations to demonstrate new technology skills they will be learning. The students will further use the Longjoy Digital Portable Overhead USB Document Camera to project tangible materials that will further enhance their presentations.

The added bonus in having multiple laptops is that students will be able to take the laptop home.

Students will be able to continue on their presentations and not be restricted to their library time to complete. Presentations will have themes that are cross curriculum so they may use them in other classes as a project as well.
