My Students
I teach a US history course of mostly 10th grade students. They are in the cross-hairs of adolescence and adulthood, striving for greater independence in their lives. Many students have not traveled far outside of our community and have very few worldly experiences. Without these experiences, it is difficult to make connections and therefore the content needs to be front-loaded.
Our class digs into history to make as many connections from the past to current events as we can.
These connections help students realize the significance of the past and the importance of the future.
My Project
With the current world we live in, it is more important than ever to have access to online learning opportunities; we are never sure when students are faced with learning from home. It is my hope to set up a presentation station that will house my laptop and other online devices. This space will allow me to stream lessons seamlessly from within my classroom. It will also be utilized by students to present and interact with those learning from home.
