I teach integrated preschooler ages 3-5. Students who receive special education services will be coming into school to receive those services. Services include, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy and intervention specialist support. We are creating a safe environment for our preschoolers who are excited to come back into the classroom.
I am excited to provide a safe learning environment to develop their pre-academic skills.
Preschoolers learn through play; our classroom has several centers. Due to the necessity of providing social distance learning opportunities we are challenged to alter our centers so that they may be single use, safe, and inviting. By isolating the toys into individual labeled totes preschoolers can access sanitized learning materials. Once a student has finished playing with a manipulative or toy teachers can safely move the item(s) to a dirty tote to be sanitized. Using visual supports preschoolers will know where to stand or sit to maintain a safe social distance. In addition, totes will be labeled with visuals for preschoolers to know which manipulative or toy is ready for them to access.
