Preschoolers Want Stories to Come Alive!

My students need a listening center with read-alongs. The listening center will help promote language and reading skills to preschoolers with limited exposure to books and English.

My Students

Did you love listening to your favorite story over and over? My preschoolers have limited exposure to books and the English language. They enjoy listening to stories over and over. A listening center and books on CD will allow them to jump into the wonderful world of books!!

My preschoolers come from low income families.

English is not the primary language of most of my families. Many of the students are not exposed to books and enter the class not even knowing how to hold a book! We often see the students holding books upside down.

My Project

I am choosing a listening center and several books on CD. The listening center will allow my students to hear favorite stories several times. Children love to hear stories over and over again! The listening center will allow students to actively engage in the wonderful world of reading. They will increase their language skills and understanding of how we use books! The books I have chosen are favorites for this age group and correlate with our curriculum.

I want my preschoolers to love to listen to stories and how stories can help create their imagination!

The listening center and books will hopefully enable the students to love reading!
