Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As preschoolers, learning is our main goal. My students are so eager to learn and understand English that they will do and try anything available. The neighborhood my school is in is changing and more and more English language learners are arriving and enrolling. 80% of the students in my class are English language learners. It is very important that we help all of these children become successful.
My preschoolers come to school so eager to learn.
They also live in an urban city which comes with other challenges. It amazes me how well they handle all they are dealt with.
My Project
Coding is the language of the future. Children need to learn this important skill to compete in today's world. Children are so inquisitive about how things work. They ask me how does a computer or tablet do what we ask them to do. These robots will help them understand the purpose of coding and what it is used for. The Cubetto robots will help them learn how to code a robot through a maze. It will help them problem-solve with their classmates.
This project will make a great impact on my students because, as I said before, coding is the language of the future.
Many of the new jobs that are being created will have coding as a prerequisite. Teaching this skill to children at a young age will help them tremendously in the future.
