Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
A Maker Space is a place where my students can combine boxes and other collage materials to create a three dimensional project. It is a dedicated space in the classroom where students can use touch, and explore how to put items together to create a new item.
When preschool students are given the opportunity to explore materials such as buttons, yarn, tubes, and tape, they are problem solving.
They need to manipulate materials on their own to create their project. The ability to create will help develop their self-esteem, develop their motor skills as well as spatial reasoning.
