Preschoolers Experience Famous Artists!

Help me give my students an opportunity to learn about famous artists of the past. My students will learn about Monet, Van Gogh, Matisse, Basquiat, Alma Thomas, Frida Kahlo, Picasso, Kandinsky, Jacob Lawrence and more!

My Project

I would like to do a new unit in my preschool classroom next year. Once per month, we will study a famous artist. I chose many famous artists, making sure that I found diversity with both people as well as abilities. I want my students to see that real people have created beautiful works of art, and that they can be anything in this world. I also want to create an appreciation for art both in looking and creating. These books would let me read to my students about some of the great artists in history and to learn about their lives. As part of this unit, we will also create open ended process art and experiment with some of the styles of these famous artists. My school budget for books each year is $100 and it would take me almost 3 years to get all of the books for this unit on my own. And I wouldn't be able to add new books about anything else.
