I have 20 students who are all non-English speaking students and are all mostly from low-income families. Two of my students are special needs students. They all come from homes where the parents, unfortunately, do not speak English, and they do not have a role model in order to learn the English language from. My students are energetic little kids who love to learn and are very excited about being in school. However, since my students are all non-English speaking students, they need a lot of visuals and hands-on activities in order to learn and make the learning process more meaningful. Also, due to the lack of knowledge from the part of the parents on how to help their children, I feel that my students need a double dosage of educational fun activities in school in order to be up to par with their counterparts and succeed in school
The big jumbo crayons requested in this project are essential materials that my students use every day! We will be using these crayons during small group time on a daily basis. Materials need to be replenished constantly in our classroom, but unfortunately the parents can not afford to buy supplies for us. Being prepared and having crayons
help promote the organization and efficiency of our classroom and ultimately increase my students' learning!
My students are still learning how to properly hold crayons and color. Therefore, it is essential that they use crayons on a daily basis.
I also requested squishy squeeze sensory beads. These are not only fun for my students to use during center time, but they will allow them to be creative. I am always trying to find fun and creative ways for my students to express themselves. My students have used play-doh but unfortunately play-doh dries up quickly and we can’t continue replenishing it. Therefore, please help me provide my students with these fun squishy squeeze sensory beads that will allow them to practice their fine motor skills.
